Today, we will revisit this concept, with the focus on the highly versatile and powerful media player, VideoLAN (VLC). There are 3 ways to disable auto updates in the VLC Player. 1 – Unchecking the option under preferences. Tools-Preferences-Activate updates notifier 2 – Adjusting the user shortcut.

Disable the option on a reference, then copy the config file to another machine.

Go to Tools -> Preferences (set Show Settings to All) and Interface -> Main interfaces -> Qt
